All of the rich are self congratulating themselves in the Pinnacle Restaurant.  Music played

Gavotte style. Strings play the melody.

In Gm

Chorus                         What did you make today?

Man 1                          Well the market was strong, I bought low – sold high.

Chorus                         What did you make today?

Man 2                          Got a wage concession and milked ‘em dry

Lady 1                         All these beggars are upon us,

Our government is scandalous

We have to hire our own security.    (crowd chorus aah- ooh)

Chorus                         Tell me, What did you make today?

Man 3                          Well my factory really cranked production.

(other chorus members echo, Not a Problem!)

Chorus                         What did you make today?

Man 4                          Got some money kicked back  from a bit of corruption

Lady 2                         Too many social functions for us

The schedule is just torturous

Driving to and fro from through the debris

Dance–Gavotte style.  John and Helena enter.

Helena                         Oh John, I don’t know

John                             Hey, there isn’t a woman here who can hold a candle to you.

(He kisses her hand)

Helena                         A candle?  I…don’t understand.

John                             Which is exactly why you’re the best person here tonight.

Chorus                         What did you make today?

Man 5                          All my coffee bean crops were ruined by dry spells.

Chorus                         What did you make today?

Man 6  (smiling)          Made a fortune selling water from my wells

Lady 3                         I think he’s making more than you do!

Lady 4                         A darn good actor, that’s true

But I heard he’s broke, and that’s reality!

Music segues while Hawthorne sings “Not a Problem” as he tips the Maitre “D” for a good table location.  They are given the best seat in the house.

Chorus                         What did you make today?

Maitre “D”                  Senior Hawthorne, won’t you please come this way.

John/Helena                Not a problem

Group                          What did you make today?

Maitre “D”                  I hope you enjoy your meal this fine day.

John/Helena                Not a problem

Ladys 5 & 6                Did you See he got the best seats

His lady is so elite

I’m certain they must be from royalty.

Chorus                         What did you make today?

What did you make today?

What did you make today?

What did you make today?

Music gavotte continues and resolves into strolling guitarists in the restaurant, Dsus4 to D7.  Next song is in G major.
